JOYOUSLY JOLLY

SAMPLER QUILT

PDF PATTERN

I absolutely love Christmas crafting and sewing with my family and friends and I always make something new each year. As a result, the annual tradition of unboxing our handmade decorations and reacquainting myself with all our treasures from years gone by, always fills me with enormous happiness and joy.

The Joyously Jolly quilt combines appliqué with embroidery which is a favourite activity of mine, and with 12 different blocks plus a felt gingerbread garland, promises endless hours of delight and festive stitching. I've taken the liberty of embellishing the binding with extra embroidery, which I believe gives it the ideal final flourish!

Finished Dimensions

JOIN ME FOR A FESTIVE SEW ALONG

To accompany the PDF pattern, I am hosting a relaxed, fun-filled and festive Sew Along, because sewing with friends is so much fun! I hope that if the thought of tackling a complete multiple block sampler quilt pattern seems daunting, breaking it down into weekly segments will make completing your quilt by Christmas entirely doable. But even if you don't finish in time for this Christmas, the goal is to have a great time sewing with others along the way!

Starting the 5th of September, which is when the PDF pattern will go live, I will also begin adding 'little happy' sew-along videos to the course curriculum each week, featuring close-ups of the weekly block. Additionally, I've been creating some extra projects using the appliqué motifs from the pattern. I hope these projects will inspire you and will demonstrate how you can get even more value from the pattern.

Whilst these videos will not be tutorials; please do not worry, all the necessary techniques to complete the quilt are already covered in my free 'Beginner's Guide to Patchwork and Quilting' course, as well as in the 'Sarah's Favourite Embroidery Stitches' course. For ease of access, I've included the pertinent tutorials in the course curriculum under the 'Additional Resources' section.

Finally, just to add, you can of course sew at your own pace, be that fast or slow, the sew-along schedule is completely optional.

Can't I get all this information for free in your Beginner's Guide to Patchwork and Quilting?

Whilst there will be some overlap, for example Sarah previously demonstrated glue basting and thread basting for EPP, in this new class, she'll dedicate more time to each process and delve into it in greater detail. Expect more 'little happy' tips and fresh video content covering techniques and processes we haven't explored before. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to watch her assemble each block and guide you through every step.

Our goal for the Ruskington Ribbon Sampler Quilt course was that despite the distance between us, it would feel as if Sarah were sitting right beside you, sewing together.

I have just bought a sewing machine and do not know how to use it, will the course show me?

Sorry, as there are so many different makes and models of sewing machine available that all work slightly differently, we would ask that you familiarise yourself with your sewing machine before you purchase this course.
