HEIRLOOM ADVENT CALENDAR

PDF Pattern

SKU: HAC0726D1

You will be sewing the most beautifully festive Advent Calendar, which will grant you hours of festive happy stitches. Once made, it will provide further joy every year as part of your annual traditions leading up to the big day itself.

The calendar itself features 24 pockets upon which, you will be hand embroidering little Christmas motifs. Each pocket will then house a coordinating ‘iced cookie’ inspired felt tag. The idea being that each day in Advent, you will hang a special felt tag from the linen ribbon ‘Twiggy Tree’ in the centre panel as you count down to Christmas Eve. This is the advent calendar of my dreams and has my heart and soul in every stitch!

Finished Dimensions

21” x 36”

The comprehensive PDF Pattern includes:

An Introduction, where I will share some 'little happy ' tips for my favourite techniques and embroidery stitches used to make the calendar and felt decorations.

The Introduction also includes a comprehensive list of fabric requirements including, suggested fabrics and DMC stranded cotton thread numbers for the embroideries. Plus a list of the actual felt colours that I used in my original calendar.

Detailed step by step instructions for how to complete the calendar. This includes instructions for each of the embroidered pocket motifs*, the centre 'twiggy' tree panel and of course the calendar construction.

Detailed step by step instructions for the felt tags.

Full size template sheets for the embroidery motifs and the felt appliqued tags.

*Don't forget you could also use the festive embroidery motifs to embellish other items, for example some plain linen napkins, how special would that be on Christmas day! Or perhaps you could make some little Christmas stockings or gift bags.....

No definitely not....machine quilt as desired if you prefer!

I like to hand piece rather than use a sewing machine, is that ok?

Of course, however, please note that the instructions are written and assume that you are machine piecing and using a 1/4" foot.
